A point in time will come when you’ll finally say that enough is enough. A day will come when you’ll stop questioning the bad things happening in your life and focus on making yourself feel good. Congratulations if you are at this point where you want to start living because you feel fed-up with all the darkness and negativity surrounding your life.
You finally realize that life is beautiful, and you can make your dreams happen. But it is not easy because changes are significant and scary- and things won’t magically happen overnight. Take it easy and be calm, because these five mind-shifts can make you feel good about yourself.
So, what can you do now to feel good about yourself despite the darkness you are in:
Being grateful will always make you feel good.
Is it hard to be grateful when negativity is everywhere? It’s not- it is the most natural thing you can do that will change your vibration instantly. I’m writing this in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic, and I know a lot of people will find it silly to be thankful. All the fear of getting infected, people losing their jobs, the starvation and everything that this pandemic has in store is indeed frightening.
Regardless, these days made me realize how I should be thankful for small things; small things that I ignored before. Focusing on gratitude may not make your problems or worry go away. Still, it is an effective way to feel good no matter what is happening with you or your environment.
Why is it important to be grateful? Because it raises your vibration and it attracts more beautiful things in your life that is worth being thankful for.
Imagine that you have two pieces of bread and there are two starving persons in front of you. You offered the bread, and the first person accepts it, smiles and says that he can’t thank you enough. The first person cannot hide his gratefulness for your deed but the second person? He looks at you with disgust and says “is this all?”.
What will these reactions make you feel? You know the answer, and who will you most likely help again?
Yes, that’s how it is- blessings are more attracted to the grateful people.
Do this: list all the things, people or events that make you happy and you are thankful in a notebook or a cellphone app. Don’t skip this practice and see how it will impact your life.
Have an abundant mindset
I like the abundant mindset because it makes you feel hopeful of all the beauty that life has to offer. When you have an abundant mindset, you are happy for other people’s win because you know that them, being successful will not affect your success. Abundant mindset states that there is a lot to go around; wealth, happiness or success are endless.
How can an abundant mindset make you feel good about yourself? It strips away the feeling of jealousy. Jealousy is such an uncomfortable, undesirable feeling. It is impossible to feel good about yourself and see things brightly while being envious of other people and what they have.
Being at ease with yourself will make you feel good.
We need to unconditionally accept and embrace ourselves if we want to feel good and radiates positivity. When we do not love ourselves completely, we will end up wanting to be someone else who we think are better than us. It is not wrong to desire better things and opportunity for ourselves. Still, we got to be sure that this desire is not stopping us from being at ease with ourselves.
We feel good about ourselves when we stop measuring our achievements or our lives against the achievements and lives of other people. Although it is tempting to compare ourselves to others from time to time; this attitude is not healthy, especially if it leaves us feeling down and unworthy.
Imagine how you will feel if you will focus on your life and what you need to do than be the kind of person who breathes on someone else’s neck while watching their progress. It is one thing to admire others who did amazing things, and it is also one thing to let their records ruin your focus.

Examine your circle and adjust
Your efforts to be positive will be futile if negative people surround you. You can identify them as people who love to put you down, people who love to belittle you, or someone as plain nasty towards you. Also, negative people love to complain, and you will recognize them by how ungrateful they are towards other people or life in general.
Being with negative people is draining, and if you don’t put enough effort, they can pull you to live and reflect their miserable lives. You need to examine the people in your life and make the necessary adjustments. While it is not always possible to toss those negative people away from your life, the best thing you can do is limit the interaction you have with them. You got to be away from them sometimes and replenish your good energy.
Find your life purpose and work towards achieving it.
You don’t feel good if you are forcing yourself to do the things that you don’t like. But because of our different circumstances, it is not always possible for everybody to fulfil their life’s purpose immediately. But this doesn’t mean that you can’t. Your situation now may stop you from doing what you love, but you still have a chance.

Once you’ve figured out your purpose, you will feel wonderful if you commit yourself in making it happen. It is like stepping out of your comfort zone and finally saying yes to the world.

This was exactly what I needed to read today x I’ve been feeling so down lately because of that constant feeling that I need to be in a different spot that I am.
This reminds me to breath, remind myself of my blessings, and remember what I want for ME. I’ve forgotten how far I have come already.. Need to be easier on myself.
